Baseball.

Hockey.

Football.

Basketball.

Tennis.

Rowing.

Running.

Squash?

Yes that too!

From reading his book, I learned such fun facts as the Wilmington based (my hometown) Fenway Painters were chosen to apply the famous great coat to Fenway’s left field wall. It turns out Red Sox executives chose them because they thought the company’s name was fitting for the job.

I also uncovered that the NFL’s Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts started their roots in Beantown.  Yes unbelievable, but true Patriots fans!

This book is choc full of historical tid-bits that will allow you to stump your co-workers around the water cooler/coffee machine or your buddies at your favorite sports bar.

Oh yeah if you want to find out the best sports bar for your favorite team, Christopher covers that too.

Want to know where to sit at the Garden, Gillette Stadium, Fenway, or Boston Arena?

Want to be a cheapskate or splurge at your favorite sporting event?  He shares his secrets with you.

Should you take your child to a Patriots or Revs game?

Christopher Klein provides insight on kid friendly sporting events as well.

He leaves no stone unturned.

“The Die Hard Sports Fan’s Guide to Boston” is so thorough and descriptive, you can taste the over priced hot dogs and watered down beer.

Whether you are a history buff, die hard, or fair weather Johnson of the Boston sports scene, this book is a must have!

Take it from one die hard fan to another.

      January 12, 2010 | 2:38 pm

We honor Mike Eruzione as the Boston Sports Then and Now Athlete of the Month.   This February will mark the 30th anniversary of the “Miracle On Ice” when the US hockey team stunned the powerful Soviets and went on to capture the gold.  Eruzione was team captain of that squad and scored “the goal heard around the world.”

Like US Olympic teammate, Jim Craig, Eruzione was also a Massachusetts native and played collegiate hockey at Boston University. Eruzione grew up in Winthrop, MA where he was captain of his high school hockey team. After graduation in 1972, he attended Berwick Academy for one year to polish his hockey skills before attending Boston University.

    • BST&N’s Book of the Month: When The Game Was Ours
      December 4, 2009 | 11:20 am

What can I say about this book? For one, I could not put it down.

This is a must read for any sports fan.

This is a must read for any sports fan.

A book has to grab my attention right away or it finds its way to the Land of Lost Toys AND Books.

“When The Game Was Ours” did not find its way to that place. This book brought me back to memories of my youth.

As a child of the 80’s, my fondest sports memories were of Celtics-Lakers on Sunday afternoons.

Bird. McHale. The Chief. Magic. Worthy. Kareem.

These are all names that are interwoven into the fabric of my sports soul.

To say I was excited to read this book is an understatement!

The journey starts with the tandem of Bird and Johnson telling the stories of their childhoods in French Lick and East Lansing.  You learn about their high school playing days and how they were courted by the big time college basketball programs.
