The PRIDE Of The Patriots: Kevin Faulk Calls It A Career (VIDEO)

Faulk calls it a career after 13 seasons with the Patriots.

Patriots running back Kevin Faulk called it a career today after playing 13 years in New England. Faulk is the ALL-TIME all purpose yardage leader in franchise history, he is a THREE time Super Bowl champion and he is the ULTIMATE team player. He encapsulated the “Patriots Way” and was cut from the same cloth as his teammate Troy Brown.

He put team FIRST.

He gave his ALL.

He prepared and studied like NO OTHER.

Hundreds attended his retirement ceremony today at the Hall At Patriots Place. Here are some highlights from the press conference.

Patriots Owner Robert Kraft:

“Money was never a primary objective for Kevin.”

Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick:

“No one worked harder on ball security, blitz pick ups & his different roles.”

“I can’t remember when Kevin did not know the answers in team meetings.”

“Kevin was the leader of our 2008 team.”

“Kevin & Troy were the gold standards.”

Kevin Faulk reflects on his career:

Faulk mentioned how much he looked up to Troy Brown. He was thankful for all the people he met over the years and that helped him in his career especially Bill Belichick.

“You can’t win with Bill in a team setting but one on one he taught me so much about football.”

The person who was most influential in Kevin’s career/life was his mother.

“One person is the reason I’m here and gave 120% in everything I did, it’s my mom.”

Faulk broke down about his mother after she lost her fight with leukemia in 2004.

He was extremely thankful for everyone that IMPACTED him in any way. This just exemplifies what kind of player and man Kevin Faulk truly is.

He was NEVER about himself as his “60 plus gameballs”  illustrates.

There was NO EGO.

He gave his ALL, ALL the time.

Congratulations Kevin. You will be MISSED!

Enjoy that “jewelry”.
