B’s Beat: P-Bruins Goalie Malcolm Subban’s Mask Is Scary Awesome (PHOTOS)
Boston Bruins goaltender prospect Malcolm Subban was assigned to Providence after training camp. So Subban had to design a new mask that would scare his AHL competition.
Here is the back story of Subban’s helmet art from InGoal Magazine:
Malcolm Subban has a new Boston Bruins mask, but the Grim Reaper and Bible verse remain. Subban, who is playing his first professional season with the AHL Providence Bruins after being picked 24th by Boston in last summer’s NHL Draft, maintains the Angel of Death theme from his last junior mask.
This time, however, rather than having it written out in it’s entirety as he did with Psalm 23:4 (“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil …) on the backplate of his last mask, Subban had the verse represented on the playing card held out by the Reaper: “James 1.”
The Bruins are also well represented on the new mask, with an aggressive bear roaring on the left side, and the spoked “B” worked brilliantly into Subban’s name along the chin.
Pretty BAD ASS mask….
Unfortunately for Subban his play has been quite scary thus far going 0-2 with a 4.09 GAA in two games.
